Margies Place – Situated in Upper Old Place with sunning views. Margie and Rob are warm and friendly hosts offering two very affordable units, each with their own parking and entrance. There is DSTV, fully equipped kitchens and braai facilities as well as a pool.

During peak season (1st Dec to 4th Jan), it is let as a holiday home, sleeping 8-10 people very easily. Three different families can all share without being on top of each other as they all have their own facilities.

Its getting closer and none us is really ready. What should we expect other than it will be busier than normal. But I somehow think that this year and the Oyster Festival in paricuar, is going to be a little different.

We drove into the most magnificent sunset on our way back from Storms River the other evening. And its at times like this when one forgets about the dysfunctional local government structures, corruption and greed. Why get steamed up about the fact that you are being over charged for bad service. Everyone knows thats the way it is and that nothing is ever going to change that. After all they have been talking about the Greenhole, the booms at Buffelsbaai and the need for a bypass for thirty odd years or more. Its just not going to happen any time soon.

Knysna is not all champagne and oysters and if its good service and value for money you are looking for you might want to talk to a few of the locals first.
